Ch 10: Animated Musical Holiday Lights

In this chapter you will find directions for building an animated light show set to music, much like the famous holiday light show videos you may have seen on YouTube. To complete this chapter you will need:

  • One or more Phidget Interface Kits 0/0/4 (each kit gives you four channels to control)
  • The Phidget API (downloadable for free)
  • Five 2-prong outdoor use extension cords per Interface Kit
  • 14–16 gauge wire
  • Two wire nuts that can handle 14–16 gauge wire per Interface Kit
  • A project box of some sort that can hold the finished Interface Kit devices
  • Strings of holiday lights
  • External speakers or FM transmitter so the music can be heard
